Our Son, Lincoln Quan

Our journey to find our son in China began Sept 11, 2007 when our plan took off from Gaungdong with our family of 5 aboard. I looked at William and said “We have a son in China and we will one day be back here to meet him!”. William was not a believer at that moment to say the least and  in fact God had to work hard to convince him. After many prayers and tears, in September 2010 we began the paperchase to find our son, with a somewhat skeptical husband coming along for the ride. Not really sure if this was God's plan or mine we got on the adoption rollercoaster and we were climbing our first hill. We began looking at the shared list. Everything had changed so much since 2007 when we were matched with Lilah Xia. Staring at each picture and profile hoping to see our son staring back at us was heart wrenching. We found a precious little one and fell head over heals for him! Convinced he was our son we asked to lock his file only to find he was gone from the share list. We were heartbroken and really unsure if we would/could stay on this rollercoaster.

In Nov 2010 we found out my Mom had cancer and for 10 months we stood by her side! I needed to focus on her and was able to. Losing the little boy we thought was ours was a blessing we didn't see coming.  We needed to heal her body and our emotional pain. She is now cancer free and getting stronger every day!  We began to cast our focus back to China and our son.  We knew our paperwork was about to expire if we did not log into China. Our hearts were tired and we were beginning to wonder if this was God's plan for our family. I prayed day and night for God to make His plan visible to our family. This walk has been difficult. Filled with heartbreak, trials, and disaapointments. We needed a plan! We needed HIS plan to be shown to us.  I could not bring myself to comb through the shared list  filesone again.  I made a call to our agency and was urged to take one last look.....

On Aug 31, 2011 God revelaed our son to us through the shared list! He has put His plan in place and we are carrying it out. His path has been so much easier than the one I was trying to force us down. I hope we can walk His path with the Grace, wisdom and mercy that he has shown my family through His love.

Meet Lincoln TaoQuan. Born May 20, 2009 in Chongqing, China.

  1. Hi! It has been a long time, but your girls are getting so big! And a little boy - congrats! Cainan is the best thing that ever happened to our family. Adding a little boy is SO different, but great. Good luck on your adventure.
